How It Works
	The Ionic Tower UV uses the electrostatic precipitation technology to trap airborne allergens and particles. This technology has been used to reduce particulate emissions in many industrial applications for many years. Electrostatic precipitators have been designed to collect particles with diameters as small as 0.1 micron and the collection efficiency is considered very high.
	Zone 1:
	Germicidal Protection
	The Ionic Tower UV features a Philips Ultraviolet Germicidal Sterilamp® to help kill airborne bacteria, mold and viruses that enter the unit by destroying the DNA of microorganisms.
	Zone 2:
	Electrostatic Precipitation
	Airborne particles enter the Ionic Tower UV containing sets of electrodes in the form of parallel plates on the stainless steel collection grid. The plates serve as grounded electrodes that act as particle collectors. Discharge electrodes, within but insulated electrically from the rest of the unit, are charged with high direct current. Our proprietary electrical circuit design produces direct current in which the current flows in one direction. (Your house uses alternating current in which the current moves back and forth.) The electrical charge ionizes (charges) the suspended particles; causing them to move toward the collecting electrodes the way cat hair is attracted to a sweater.
	Zone 3:
	Negative Ion Generator
	The Ionic Tower UV produces millions of healthy “negative ions” to clean your air and freshen your indoor environment through the use of natural fiber. The negative ions help reduce suspended particulate, and at the same time, make it difficult for pollutants to become airborne in the first place.
	Negative ions are odorless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in certain environments. Think mountains, waterfalls, and beaches. Once they reach our bloodstream, negative ions are believed to produce biochemical reactions that increase levels of the mood chemical seratonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy.
	Electronic Propulsion
	The Ionic Tower UV air purifier uses electrostatic forces to move air molecules. Our air purifier utilizes an electrical charge to create air that is densely packed with positively and negatively charged ions. Similar to the power of same-pole magnets that push away from each other, this electronic propulsion is absolutely silent.
